Is it possible to embed Youtube in a newsletter? I have changed config.php, so that it is allowed in News, but it does not work in the newsletter.

What exactly are you trying to "embed"? Sorry... not a YouTube guy.

So you can view Youtube in the newsletter. Many Nuke sites have Youtube in their news.

Ok, so how are you trying to "embed" it. I can't help you if I don't have the details as to how/what you are trying to do...

Ok, I have re-checked the code (its been a long time) and there is nothing that I can see that should be stopping this. In fact, since this is behind the admin login and the whole point of a "HTML Newsletter" is to, well, send an HTML Newsletter - smile - I have no restrictions on what is placed there.

So, what exactly is really not working? Might there be a mod_security rule stopping things? If you do the Preview option, what do you see in the raw archives .php script that is written? Are you sure its not being stopped at the client end?

Many thanks! Embed Youtube works in Preview in newsletter, but not when I view it in the email client Thunderbird. This will be changed in next release of Thunderbird 3. In Outlook embedded Youtube can be viewed if lower security is used for Outlook.

You can thank spammers and hackers for this. It because of these few that we have to be protected from "live content", even simple images, in our email clients. Just amazing the amount of money wasted in this world due to these boneheads.

I have moved your post to General Questions since it is really working from an HTML Newsletter standpoint.

IMHO embedding objects such as short vids is a surefire way to get ppl not to subscribe to newsletters.
