I just changed my downloads to NSN and downloaded your Short-Links pack.
Changed the .htaccess and the problem is that I have still such links:
downloads.html&op=NewDownloads
downloads.html&op=MostPopular
etc.
etc.
Add download there doesn´t exist a rule in .htaccess so its still:
modules.php?name=Submit_Downloads
I´ve sligthly modified NSN GR Dowloads because there wasn´t a lang pack availabe for this version and of course to make that thing XHTML compatible, which is endless work because of the many warnings and files within this modul. But I have still a lot of warnings.
However, I doubt if that could be the reason why the Short Links doesn´t work correctly and I´m not sure if it ever worked proper before I changed it. |

Solved it. Simple uploaded the GT-Downloads.php again which I had overwritten through upgrading.
There should be a short url for add Download and beneed that I think this modul isn´t very search engine friendly using Dynamic titles the title within this modul is always the same. Should show the name of the category and the name of the download that would be much better. |

Susann, were you using the tap files from here:
http://montegoscripts.com/download-file-32.html
Does look like I missed the Submit Downloads module as I was tapping based on my site and I have that turned off. I'm a bit swamped right now, so not sure when I'll get to it, but it should be fairly straight forward.
Thanks for bringing this to my attention! |

Any news ?
I also noticed that page 2 and 3 within a category of downloads shows such an url:
downloads.html&min=10&cid=5
downloads.html&min=20&cid=5
Is that correct ? |

Sorry, no news. Thank you for the "reminder".
I never even knew there was paging within the module. I don't have enough downloads I guess.
I will try and get to this this week. |

BTW, I am working on this now. Had another site which had enough downloads to test this. I have both the paging working within a category as well as upon search.
I hope to release this in the coming weeks. I am also working on the Submit_Downloads (done) and providing core file edits for the Top module. |

"G", you are too funny. This work came from a recent forum thread at Raven's site where I helped out someone there on this exact issue. Since I don't have enough downloads in any given category to test with (and it would take too much time to create them), I seized the opportunity to use his site (and data) to test and correct a couple of other paging scenarios. Didn't know when I'd get another chance at that, so had to take it.
So now it is only a matter of "productizing" this into a new release. I.e., updating documentation and then cut the release. Why does that take a couple of weeks? Because I am so wrapped up in RN 2.21.00 and because I also need to get back into RN 2.30.00...
(You see? You and I can justify just about anything. LOL) |
