Since you are reading this download description, we assume that you are considering creating shortened URLs on your *Nuke site, such as those seen on this site. By way of background, the original purpose of the shortened URLs concept was to improve upon search engine crawling and indexing. The reason for this, is that search engines were having issues with crawling / indexing long, dynamically generated URLs. While this may no longer be an issue with most search engines, who knows for certain AND many people like "user friendly" links.

For details as to what has changed with this release, please see our on-line change log for ShortLinks release 1.3.1.
NOTE: This has been tested on RavenNuke(tm) ONLY! This should work on other releases as well, but you will have to adjust the edits accordingly to your version and patch level.

Montego Scripts was given the rights to this project from Bob Marion back in 2006. Unfortunately, other projects and life took precedence and the community has not seen an updated version since... until now. We took the latest release at the time (1.0.3pl3) and did a ton of code clean-up, XHTML compliance, bug fixes and other minor enhancements along the way. All of the original functionality is in tact, including the fantastic ability to assign permissions by Groups (not Point groups, but user groups).
While the title infers a "patch" release, this is a complete distribution and should be used for new installs. For details as to what has changed with this release, please see our on-line change log for Downloads release 1.1.3. NOTE: This was built for RavenNuke(tm) ONLY and PHP 5.2 and above ONLY! PHP4 is dead... get with RavenNuke(tm) and PHP5! :-)

shutting off access to this function. These hosts are now requiring authenticated SMTP. Hence the need for a replacement
for PHP-Nuke's mailer functions.
For a more detailed explanation of the TegoNuke(tm) Mailer and a more detailed list of features,
check out the TegoNuke(tm) Mailer Wiki pages.
NOTE: This is now for PHP 5.2 or greater ONLY. PHP4 is no longer supported by this author. This has been
tested on PHP-Nuke 7.6 and RavenNuke(tm), but should be easily adaptable to other *nuke variants.

This is just a Beta release for now as certain features are missing, but this block works and can be seen on the home page of this site. Here is a short list of its features:
- Uses Twitter API's to get the user's profile and timeline information.
- Caches block HTML in nuke_blocks for better performance. The cache
refresh period is configurable. - Cached block content is used so that search engine spiders will crawl the produced timeline.
- Then uses a jQuery AJAX implementation to update the timeline in real time (not implemented yet in the first Beta, but a TO DO for final release).
- Numerous configuration options and more will be created with each release. These configuration options are towards the top of the block-TegoTwitter.php script and are generously commented.
Please note these key requirements:
- PHP 5 - Sorry, no more PHP 4
- Twitter API class requires your host has the cURL library compiled into PHP and enabled
- Requires RavenNuke(tm) 2.40.xx or greater - other versions may be supported in the future
