Montego Scripts proudly presents TegoNuke(tm) TegoTwitter, a fresh Twitter block for your RavenNuke(tm) CMS!  We have tried other blocks as well as the basic widget from twitter.com itself, and just felt like there was a better way of doing things for this great CMS! This is just a Beta release for now as certain features are missing, but this block works and can be seen on the home page of this site.

Here is a short list of its features:

  • Uses Twitter API's to get the user's profile and time-line information.
  • Caches block HTML in nuke_blocks for better performance. The cache refresh period is configurable.
  • Cached block content is used so that search engine spiders will crawl the produced time-line.  (The basic widget from twitter.com is completely Javascript based, so most, if not all, search engines cannot crawl the generated content.)
  • Uses a jQuery AJAX implementation to update the time-line in real time (not implemented yet in the first Beta, but a TO DO for final release).
  • Numerous configuration options and more will be created with each release. These configuration options are towards the top of the block-TegoTwitter.php script and are generously commented.

Please note these key requirements:

  • PHP 5 - Sorry, no more PHP 4
  • Twitter API class requires your host must have support for the cURL library
  • Requires RavenNuke(tm) 2.40.xx or greater - other versions may be supported in the future

Please come try out our TegoTwitter Beta release and give us your feedback in our forums!

Best regards,
montego
